Snow Feast

snow

The benevolent sky conjures

a heavenly feast for the empty earth,

scattering snow on the lonely bench

drenching the eager tree,

loading trucks playfully,

tossing thin crusts on surprised travellers

and coloring the wet mud,

thus making a creative pattern

of white amongst dark brown

Gaze and Marvel

What stronger feeling

could surpass

the momentary amazement

when you look

at the soft colors

in their dainty glory?

Would you perhaps

gaze, marvel

and feel gratified

that you belong to

the same world

that they do?

Watch a bee trying

to find a gap between

the two beauties and struggling

to decide on his best partner

Just Caught my Fancy

I am a light butterfly of yellow

and my flight takes me

to the colours I fancy

I perch on a sunflower

of my color

and the next moment

roll over the roses for nectar

I spring joyfully

to the overtly ripe fruit

and shuttle around

the night’s dim lights

I circle the warm fire,

which is brighter than any color

The heat warns me,

but I fail to notice

and in my excited state

jump straight into the hungry flames
