Journey

En sti i Odense.

Lulling us to sleep

and a peaceful dream

in the long rhythmic journey,

the horse-cart travels in a rugged path,

determinedly trotting ahead

tracing every curve

in the dark lane

    • Hi Robyn, The horse-cart always creates an old aura of those days when there were no cars and trucks. Carts provide a unique rhythm. Thank you so much for reading. Wish you a peaceful week ahead.

  1. You have recaptured a scene and a feeling that I often heard my late parents talk about from their younger days when every family had a ‘Tub-trap’, every house a stable and every horse a name. On a more irreverent note it also brings to mind a story told of the faithful nag who carried its drunken owner home from the village pub while the occupant was comatose 😀

    • That was a touching story of a old horse. I’ve heard stories where horses carried injured riders away from the battlefield. Don’t know how true it is. And thank you for the wonderful comment.
