I blossomed with my sister
In the darkness of a moonless night
Walked in a young man next day
He admired and caressed her
She blushed and spread her petals in pleasure
He took an image of her
She smiled and posed for him
And she waited expectantly
When he abruptly plucked her
From the mother stem
The entire bush shook with grief
And he mistook my tears for dewdrops
We shrivelled as he just walked away
Leaving us to mourn her loss
Beautiful, but sad and poignant, a lovely poem. š
Glad to know that you enjoyed it:)
telling – and yes, sad ~ though speaks volumes about the hurt which is part of life. Enjoyed much~
